What are Dental Sedation treatments?

Intravenous conscious sedation involves the administration of a sedative agent through a small cannula in the back of the hand or arm. Sedation can be an excellent solution for anxious or nervous patients. It is often described by patients as a very pleasant experience. Midazolam (a benzodiazepine) has a calming and relaxing effect on our patients, often you will feel drowsy and time will seem to pass more quickly. As the agent is an amnesic many patients will think they have been asleep but will have been conscious throughout the procedure.
